The greeting- pronounced “sa-wa-ti-kah” (for women) and “sa-wa-ti-krap” (for men). It is said cheerfully and with a big grin every time.

The food. Pad thai, pad krapow gai, whole mangos and whole pineapples. Everything is fresh and delicious. And there are food stands every 5 feet, so you’ll never go hungry.

The people- they smile, they smell nice, and they try so hard to talk to you, even when you both know you speak zero of each other’s languages.

The streets- having just been to India and Nepal (no order, no rules), I was stoked to find lines painted on the roads and that everyone actually stays in their lane, uses blinkers, and obeys the speed limits!

Flowers! They garden here, they adorn their houses, shops, and cars with flowers, the trees are flowering. Tis a tropical wonderland!

7/11 EVERYWHERE. Seriously, I’ve never seen so many and they have everything from gum to brand new cell phones for sale.

The weather- it is warm and humid, and after a dry, desperately hot month in Nepal, I’m happy to be able to feel the ocean nearby!

The stores- there’s a big Walmart style store nearby called Big C and it is INCREDIBLE! They literally have everything you could ever need.

We’ve only had two ministry days so far, and they have both been great, but I’m still marinating in my thoughts and feelings about them. I’ll hopefully have a lot to say next week, so stay tuned!

In other news, I only need about $340 to be fully funded! Would you like to help me reach my final fundraising goal! Any amount helps!

How can I be praying for you and your family? Send me a quick message and I’ll be sure to pray for you!
