One of the many travel days to Asia was spent in Athens, Greece!
The ferry brought us into port just before 7 AM…good timing for a gorgeous sunrise!

We then rode a bus to the airport. Dropped off our big packs in a storage area, and set off to the metro to adventure in the city.

We headed towards the Acropolis, which is where the Parthenon is located.

We hiked up winding, small staircases that practically took us through people’s homes.

The views were very much worth it though.

As we hiked we realized we wouldn’t be able to get in on our own. Our group then spilt up to go inside and others to view some of the other sites in Athens.
We wandered around finding the site of Olympieion.
The temple of Hephaestus.

Ancient Agoura

We had a lovely lunch overlooking the Acropolis.

The Panathenaic stadium, with many of the previous Olympic torches!
While climbing up to the top seats in the stadium we had to stop for a water break.

Then we watched a beautiful sunset and got 360° views before heading back to the airport and trying to get some rest.
