September 5th we left Belgrade for Alba Iulia, Romania, it’s only about 230 miles.

Along the way we made a stop to a castle! It was a short stop, so we didn’t actually get to go inside, but it was still pretty impressive!

Hector almost had a little mishap as it was fairly windy, and he thought it would be a good idea to pose on the railing! Thankfully we were able to save him, and then decided to take pictures that were a little safer!

Then we made it to our ministry site, which is pretty amazing. Raul is our overall ministry host…don’t think I mentioned this, but our entire squad of 41 people, plus our leadership team is here this month! Each team has their own ministry, and ours is helping out at Flacara Închinarii. This is a church, and the name translates to flame worship!

We are staying at the Christian center for PIEI…it’s basically a hotel! We are so blessed!

Alba Iulia is a very beautiful and historic city! There is a fortress/citadel in the middle of the city that they have been working to uncover and build it up as a tourist area. Below is the Orthodox cathedral, which is inside the citadel.

There is also a Catholic church in the citadel.

The citadel has several gates.

Romania has been really great thus far, and I know God will continue to work here even after we are gone.

Also, a little side note…our route had us going to Bulgaria next, but our team was given the option to go to Greece instead! We unanimously decided on this after as much prayer and time was allowed. We will still be going to Bulgaria for a short leadership session at the beginning of October, but then we will be headed to Greece to serve the refugees.
