Happy May Day! (This still counts because I started writing it yesterday…=])
Most people do no celebrate or even recognize May Day as a holiday…When I was younger my mom introduced this holiday as a celebration of spring where we got to make May Day baskets and then ring door bells and run away. That being said I was telling people “Happy May Day,” but most are just like, “What is that?” So I decided to Google it…CNN has a few things to say about it…
“Depending on where you are, it’s either a seasonal celebration or a day to celebrate workers’ rights, or maybe a little bit of both. Think of the latter use as a Labor Day, if you will, for the rest of the world.”

This sounds fine right?! Images of maypoles and flowers… The not so nice part is that apparently it has also been known to produce violent riots or protests.
I don’t mean to be controversial in any way, but I think much of the protests/riots/marches is the mentality of people being entitled to things. This comes across very strongly, especially in our culture today. It’s so hard to figure out why people are doing what they are doing, what they believe, or why they believe it, or if they even have reasoning behind their thinking…Just to clarify I am also one of these people. It would be so much easier if things were just Clear.
So that might be a little side rant, but Clear or Clarity has been the word I’ve been thinking God wants me to share. A couple of weekends ago I had the opportunity to go to Chicago to hang out with some of my squadmates. This was really a great time of fellowship and just getting to know each other. I’m not going to lie, I was super skeptical of going at first, like why would I want to go spend a weekend in Chicago with people that I’m going to have to do life with for the next year plus…What if we don’t get along? What if they are weird? What if they think I’m weird? What if we don’t agree on things? God’s pretty awesome, and has eliminated those what ifs!
The most exciting thing is that we all have a heart to serve God, and listen to Him. 1 Corinthians 14:8-9 talks about a clear call to action. God has made it all the more clear that the World Race is His next step I need to take in living for Him. (Side note: June 7-17 is training camp for the race, so please pray that I will be accepting whatever that reveals about God’s will!)
“Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.”
This call to share God’s Word to the world was just made more clear as the few squadmate were together interacting and worshiping…it’s just hard to put into words, but it’s pretty exciting!!
So my song that I have been listening to that has to do with clarity is Clear by NEEDTOBREATHE. This song was written for the artists’ wife on their wedding day, but since I am part of the bride of Christ I will read it as though it’s a conversation between God and I.
Oh, it’s so clear come a little closer all of My love is right here
I just want to hear you whispering you still trust
You’re the only thing that I have ever been sure of
I just wanna be where You are…it’s so clear now

In Zephaniah it’s talking about restoration, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. HE will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
God wants us to trust Him with our whole hearts, and long to spend time with Him. Even when it’s clear that we don’t deserve anything God has and will continue to give us He is there with arms wide open. He tries to tell us that all of His love is here and present, we just have to listen to His commands and do what He asks.
Ok, so I know I’m rambling and I’m over the word limit suggestion, but there are two more songs…
Do what you love and you’ll love what you do. That’s only true when I’m following YOU…YOU fill up this place put love where it ain’t and You’re patient as I grow
…Not sure if TobyMac meant for Love Is In The House to be talking about a relationship with God, but that’s how I sing it!
Then last song, Where I Wanna Be by V’enna
I wanna be the way You are, Don’t wanna be the one to stay in the dark. I wanna live the way You live, I wanna do it in the way that You did.
So there’s a lot of super awesome grammar in that song, but for me it’s a call out to God, making it CLEAR that I want to do His will and follow His example.
p.s. Huge praise, God has provided over 88% of the funding to go towards this trip. I just want to thank all of you for all of your support…yes, I know that sounds pretty cliché, but I really do appreciate it. You’ve made God’s faithfulness apparent and clear!!
