Hello Africa. Man God has a sense of humor. I knew the world race would be “challenging” physically, but I thought I was tough and low maintenance. Wrong. I got to Africa, and learned very quickly I am quite the diva. Mozambique has been nothing short of 100+ degree weather, crazy bugs and critters that are about the size of me, and lots and lots of mud. God has really brought my prayer of dying to self to life, as I am struggling to live without the American comforts that I took so easily for granted. However, despite all these little petty things that push me out of my comfort zone, Mozambique is a beautiful place and it has some of the most beautiful people.

My team and another team our working out here in Guijia, Mozambique. We are partnering this month with the Christian Bible Institute. Christian Bible Institute aids the community by caring for the terminally ill and is also involved with the local churches in the area. Our teams have been spending our days walking around the community and praying over the terminally ill that are in the program and we have also been serving in church the past two Sundays we have been here.

My favorite part about our ministry is to see how joyful these people are despite their struggles. Most of these people have had death surround their families, and they are in pain, yet they still radiate the joy of Jesus. Please pray over this community and just pray that God will provide for these people and keep his hand of protection over them.
