The Power of Prayer

One of the greatest lessons of the race I have learned is simply the power of prayer. As we pray, God hears and responds. Literally, it was because Abraham was faithful in interceding for Sodom and Gomorrah that the city was not destroyed. When you have prayed for me while I am overseas, I can’t tell you the amazing answers God has given us over here. I wish I could connect all the incredible things back to those who were praying, yet it would be impossible.

I thought I would take the time to encourage you to continue to pray! As I have one month left on the race, I have a desire to continue to see God do some amazing things and it all starts with prayer.

So here are some answers to prayer to encourage you in your prayers for me:

Prayer #1: Prayers for motivation and strength throughout the finish line at the end of June.

Answer #1: God has given us so much perseverance this month in Mongolia. We have seen at least 3 come to know Christ and discipleship is happening regularly. I even had one of the people I am discipling, disciple his friend who knows no English. And then there is a blog I’m working on where two demons came out of one of the guys I prayed for. Your prayers are powerful and needed. Please continue to pray for strength and endurance as we finish the race with one month left in China.

Prayer #2: Team unity and if there is a team change we will be able to continue to challenge each other towards excellence.

Answer #2: My current team has been more unified than ever before. It has been really cool to see us do some fun things together like spend the day in the Yurt outside of Ulaanbataar, Mongolia. We even had a time of affirmation that lasted 2 hours where we encouraged each other on the ways we have grown. We are having a team change coming next week as I am on the China team. The other two teams are headed into the wilderness of Mongolia to reach out to the nomadic peoples. Please pray for all three teams as they go separate directions to share their faith to those who have never heard.

Prayer #3: Deeper intimacy with the Lord as I look to seek His will in all I do.

Answer #3: As I continue to seek the Lord, He continues to show me deeper things about myself and about where He is taking me. It has been hard to want to sit and listen, but I realized how much I need it to understand Him. Please pray for more understanding as I create the time and place to listen and seek HIM.

Prayer #4: God would move incredibly through Mongolia and China whenever we are and whatever we are doing.

Answer #4: We have seen God do an incredible work in Mongolia already and I can only imagine what He is doing in China when the population is so much larger. From people accepting Jesus, to meetings for discipleship, to genuine interest from those around us. We have seen how open this country has become towards the GOOD NEWS. With such a rich history and lots of hatred and bitterness towards China, the people are learning to understand their need of a savior. Please continue to pray for these people and that they would continue to understand the Truth of the gospel. Also, pray for the leaders of the country because it has become so corrupt with government taking so much money and using it on selfish gain.

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS

Prayer #1: God has been working in my brother Ben’s life in an incredible way. He has decided to take a step of faith to South Carolina this summer to grow in his faith with God with 100 other college students at summer beach project with Campus Outreach. Please pray for his growth as he has a desire to disciple and make an impact on other students. Also, he is support raising $2,000 for this discipleship program. Would you pray that he would be fully funded by the June 10th?

*If you have a desire to give and would like to invest in his growth you can give at:

Prayer #2: The end of the Race is coming fast and I am going to have to get back on my feet. Would you pray with me for a vehicle when I get back? And just other things that I need in adjusting back into the United States.

Prayer #3: Safety in China! We are traveling through and can NOT use social media while we are there. So unfortunately my blog will and the main forms of communication will be cut off for a month. If you have a desire to connect with me you can download the app Signal and add me with my number, 1-701-681-0115, or by my username bhershey.

Prayer #4: Continued obedience to the Lord. I believe it is through prayer and obedience that we see God do miracles and I would love to share some of those with you over the next month.

Prayer #5: Personal growth in finishing this season of the World Race and passing the knowledge and wisdom on to the younger generation through discipleship

Prayer #6: For logistics to work out and for us to travel around China within our budget and to find the housing and transportation for the right prices.

Prayer #7: Prayer for future ministry God is leading me too! As soon as it is official I will explain more, but God is transiting me into a role of discipleship where I will be able to make a long-term impact and still impact the nations!

Lately! Praise Jesus for all He has done with me! Seriously, it is worth rejoicing to know we have more brothers and sisters and that the Kingdom is being brought to earth!
