Every morning over the course of my time in Morocco I have been getting up at 6:12AM and praying by 6:18AM. I have realized pretty quickly that I have I can do nothing without God’s help. Dependence on the Lord has been a huge theme for me this month.
I know that if God wants someone HE will relentlessly pursue that person until they are reached. It really reminds me of Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
As I was praying for supernatural things to happen in this city. Dreams and visions have constantly come up. I started praying for dreams and visions for my team and for those who we met around the city of Fes.
About 5 days before we left, my friend Joseph (for privacy purposes I’ll call him Joseph) had a dream! He explained the dream to me like this…
I was with his whole family in a village not too far from Fes. We had a great time together and I ended up staying the night with them. In the morning, something happened and they found me dead. Joseph said he felt so sad like losing a really good friend and his whole family was sad. He said that he felt the reality of this sadness when he woke up. From there he and his family dug a grave for me in a muslim burial ground. Five times they set my body in the grave and each time, it levitated from the grave and would not go into the ground. They were stunned and thought why? Three hours later, I rose from the dead. They were amazed and so happy I came back to life!
The reality of this dream was vary vivid through the eyes of Joseph I remember him saying that he rarely dreams, but this dream he remembered everything from the last detail. I asked him, “What do you think this dream means?”
He told me, “I think it means you need to be careful. I know you like to do dangerous things and be careful because I don’t want you to die. I also think it means we will be friends for along time.”
I told him thats very interesting. I instantly had a little picture of what the dream meant and how it relates to Jesus rising from the dead and since Jesus lives in me, I am now raised to life. However, I wasn’t sure what the dream meant as a whole.
A day later Joseph shared the exact same dream with the team. I remember asking Joseph more questions about other dreams he had in the past. He said that, “I have had many other dreams of friends dying, but none of them were raised to life again.”
I asked my team to pray about it and see if there was a meaning for this dream. Relatively quickly, within a half hour, my teammate Lauren had a revelation of the dream…
The five times I was levitated from the grave represents how the power that is in me is greater than the five pillars of Islam. Because Jesus live inside of me there was power to raise me from he grave.
Amazed and didn’t know what would happen. I know that Lauren explained this part to Joseph and prayed for him to have further interpretation of the dream.
As I have been praying through this, I realize how the three hours Joseph was waiting represents the three days Jesus was dead and he was raised to life again.
I was beginning to think. Jesus was actually the one in this dream. And that God used me as a picture to reveal Jesus to my friend. This is something God has shown me over the course of the last month.
I know that God is always working and always on the pursuit of His people. Even though the work may not be done, Jesus is making himself known in Morocco and coming in ways that is gentle and kind through love and grace. This may seem like a small thing, yet for me it was incredible because it was the dream I have been praying for.
