We have just started our fourth month of the World Race! I cannot believe have fast this trip seems to be going. People say time flies when you are having fun. To that I say time flies when you are doing something you love. Madison and I have certainly had some challenges on the World Race, especially as life continues on at home. However, more often than not we find ourselves surrounded by the least of these and those who desperately need the Gospel, and find strength to preserver.
Cambodia is a very unique place in that they are still recovering from the genocide that happened 40 years ago. If you would like more information on the Cambodian genocide please refer to Juliana Grinols Cambodia Blog.
Before we started ministry, our ministry host brilliantly decided to gave us a tour of Battambang, Cambodia. To see the memorials about the genocide and understand more of the history of this country. I think this was so important, because without this we would have started ministry having a lack of empathy for those we are ministering to.
The picture below is a stair case we walked down towards the killing caves. This is a place where the rebel army would throw people off the cliffs to their death.

Here we are at the inside of the cave, where the bodies would fall. It was actually a very beautiful place in spite of such terrors that happened there.

The picture below is a tomb, where bones from the victims are held to remember the genocide.

The genocide has played an incredibly significant piece into the the way people live today. Please pray from the people here, that they may know the love of God, and the church here can meet the needs of the people in such tangible ways.
