Signing up for the World Race came with a pretty pricy bottom line. I knew when I started fundraising that the Lord was going to have to move in pretty incredible ways in order to be fully funded for this journey. Needless to say, God always does abundantly more than we could as for or imagine (Eph. 3:20) and I was able to be fully funded before I even launched onto the field!!
Because of the generosity of so many, I was able to save most of the money I had made from over the summer to spend on adventure days, additional food (not covered by the $3-4 we have each day), toiletries, new clothes when mine got worn out, etc.
I am so grateful for this because I’ve gotten to experience some INCREDIBLE things all around the world. I’ve hiked mountains in the Himalayas, played with elephants in the Thai jungle, seen the oldest place of worship in Cambodia, the Salt Flats in Bolivia, and so much more.
This extra money has also allowed me to bless people around me whether it be buying a jar or peanut butter for my host in Rwanda or getting a sick squad-mate a care package. The generosity that the Lord has shown me through His people has allowed me to overflow into other people’s lives.
As the Race is coming to a close, I am closely watching my bank account and thinking about the responsibilities awaiting me when I re-enter the United States. Student loans, moving into an apartment, and all the adult-ish things that go along with it are at the forefront of my mind. The reality of the situation is that I don’t have enough funds to sustain myself over these next 3 months, and be in a financially responsible position once I get home.
So that’s where you all come in. I am so grateful for your financial support on the front end of my journey, your prayer support all throughout these past 8 months, and the undoubted support you all will give me once I get home. I am now humbly asking for some additional financial support for the last 3 months of the World Race. I don’t need a lot, just enough to keep me going for 90 more days. Seriously, anything helps. $5 or $10 goes so far in the countries I’m living in.
