My last week in Nepal, I had the privilege to help organize and lead a Beauty for Ashes retreat for around 20 Nepalese women.

It was, without a doubt, my favorite days of ministry so far.

I saw girls open up about tragedies in their past, and because of that they started to find freedom. I heard girls recount horrendous tales from their childhoods, only to say moments later that they wanted to return in order to effect change in their communities. I saw the beauty that God brings out of the ashes of our darkest moments.

I watched as girls recognized their own beauty through a couple strokes from a hair straightener. I saw the smiles overtake teenagers faces when they saw their makeup done. I witnesses pure joy; joy that could only come from the Father.

We laughed together, cried together, sang together, ate together, and, most importantly, dove closer to the Lord together.

I am a firm believer that pictures and videos fill in the blanks when words fail us. So here is a short video that I made to encompass our time with these sweet ladies.

Hope you enjoy!
