As we were sitting in front of another crowd of curious church goers waiting to preach and sing we noticed a man walking up with a slight limp. He sat down in the back and didn’t move a muscle for the rest of the night.
We carried on with our fun night of sharing testimonies, singing upbeat chorus’s cause that’s all we knew, and praying over people.
At the end of the service, before everyone dispersed to eat, the pastor stood up and began sharing this man’s life story with us in his broken English. We were told he came from a Hindu background and I had never heard or experienced anything about Jesus.
He kept sharing that a group of world racers that had just come to India a few months before us were in this same village and met this man resting in his wheelchair. They began talking to him and he shared how he was in an accident a few years back that left him crippled. The man opened up to them and said he knew there was something more in life he desired but couldn’t figure out what it was.
They knew what this man needed.. but they weren’t settling for just a change of heart. They knew God was going to allow this man to stand up and walk again. They began praying over the man and he accepted Christ into his life! They prayed once more and asked him to stand up. I can only imagine the fear or nervousness that he must of felt but he stood up!
Fast forward to our night in this village and we see the same man hobbling along into our service. He WALKS to church every time the doors are open.
This man had a raw experience with a very real Jesus. And this story is just one of many that we came across over the course of 17 days preaching in different villages. India is where revival is already happening folks. In the depths of all these different villages God is showing himself through dreams, miracles, and groups like us willing to be available to be used by Him. What a privilege!
In Christ,
Tim
