Each day, since I’ve been accepted as a World Racer, has brought on a new challenge with the same intentional purpose. Being intentional in every moment that I am gifted with is hard work and sometimes I don’t get it right…
Before I dive into that topic I would like to give you some quick updates about what is to come and my progress thus far:
- My team and I leave for training camp in 8 DAYS!! If you didn’t know, training camp will be in Gainesville, Georgia and this will be a 10 day journey of spiritual, physical, and mental preparation for our year overseas. We will simulate life on the field by living in tents, taking bucket showers, and simply living in community by getting to know each other as men and women in Christ.
- I have $7,700 towards this trip! I am overwhelmed daily by the love people show me and I just want to say thank you to all that have given and prayed. There is still $10,000 yet to be raised in total but I am believing in a big God to make that happen.
- I have received three vaccinations of the six that I need. The cost of these come out of my own pocket and to be honest I need help with it. The last three I need will cost me $800. If you feel led to give or know somebody that wants to help feel free to send any donation to 12330 Oil Field Lane, Arlington, TN 38002. Anything amount is greatly appreciated.
I want to be intentional in every moment that I am gifted with. I recently heard a sermon that encouraged and taught me how to pray for our nation, how to pray against the enemies tactics, and how to simply but firmly pray Scripture over myself and the people around me. As I was listening my heart was immediately convicted because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been approached or been asked to pray for something specific and my answer was, “Yea, I’ll pray for you… when I get home” or “I’ll write it down and get back to it later.”
I want to act on Galatians 6:2 daily. This desire I have to be intentional can only be fulfilled by acting upon it with urgency.
“This is my command, that you love another as I have loved you.” When I begin this journey for eleven months I’ll be engulfed in community with people from all over the United States and beyond. These are the guys that I’ll get to do life with and when they need a friend to encourage and pray with I don’t want my answer to be, “not now.” Being intentional is really hard sometimes but all it takes is a simple act of obedience with prayer right then to let someone know that there’s a God who cares for them and loves them unconditionally. Essentially, by being obedient you’ll be sharing the Gospel through your actions. You never know what might happen after that but it’s always taking that first step.
Thanks for the prayer warriors out there that have been interceding on my behalf. I couldn’t do this without you. Being intentional is something that God has been teaching me with my family and soon my teammates. It’s been a hard fought process but I see so much good coming forth from laying down my desires for His. Thanks for letting me share my heart with you.
With love,
Tim LaRue
