In Thailand I made it my mission to wake up everyday and spend time with the Lord.
In the past, I’ve always just thrown time with the Lord into a more “convenient” part of my day or I would pick up my bible and read right before I went to sleep.
I was doing pretty well, getting up early enough to have time to sit in his presence and pour over his word.

But one morning during our last week there things got a little hectic, I didn’t have my life together in the slightest… I turned on that snooze button a few times and then finally rolled out of bed to get ready for my day. Before I knew it I was sitting outside about to open my bible, thinking I had plenty of time, when my teammates come out the door and start walking towards the truck to leave for ministry. I looked at the clock on my phone for the first time since getting up and realized that I had spent a bit too much time getting ready for my day. I grabbed my stuff and ran to the truck to join the rest of my team.

I hopped in the bed of that pickup truck and we drove out onto the roads in Thailand. It’s amazing the things you can do with your iPhone: I threw my headphones in, filled my ears with the sounds of some of my favorite worship songs and pulled up my bible app. As we drove past beautiful mountains, lush green lands and the shoreline I sat there reading Proverbs and praising the Lord with the wind whipping through my hair.

That day I sat IN AWE of the Lord.
He is so good to us.
Even when I didn’t have the discipline to get up in time or the diligence to keep track of the clock while getting ready He blessed me.
That day ended up being my favorite time with the Lord in Thailand.
It was unexpected but so beautiful.

I am so grateful for His blessings and for the sweetness of His presence.
If you haven’t spent time with him in a while pick up your bible and just rest in Him for a moment, trust me, it’s worth it.
