Hello all! This will be just about the shortest blog you will ever get from me! I haven’t had a new post since the very end of September. A lot has happened since that time! I just wanted to let you all know that things are going very well, I am buckling down in this last minute of preparation and readying before I launch in less than two weeks. Since the last blog post I-
Went to training camp (it was an awesome, awesome experience).
Was baptized (for the first time as an adult, got sprinkled as an infant).
Enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family (even though the skeet thrower broke).
Started fundraising (sending out 180+ support letters is no joke).
Spoke at a Chapel service at Rosemark (definitely the biggest group I’ve spoken too).
Got vaccinated (shots are expensive).
Went to the signing Christmas tree on a whim (it was a lot more fun than expected).
Finished working at my job (much more bittersweet than I expected).
Reached my $10,000 fundraising goal (and more, God is blowing me away with how faithful and generous he is).
Celebrated my mom’s and brother’s birthdays (Ethan remarked how this was the beginning of his 20th trip around the sun, and how he had “traveled a long ways in his lifetime”).
Went to my last Lifegroup for quite some time (this was super sad, but encouraging at the same time).
Had two teammates who were asked to take a step back from the race at this time (this was incredibly hard, being this close and only having 16 squad members to begin with. Please be in prayer for Rachel and Kris as they walk through this time of uncertainty and also for AIM leadership).
And you can ask about anything else to fill in the gaps. ha! Over this season I have been reminded constantly of Gods faithfulness to us and his constant provision, even when things are tough or too much. It has been amazing to see his church rally around what he is doing in my life and want to be a part of something bigger. Please join me in praying for the people we will be meeting in Indonesia in less than 1 month! Love you all!
P.S. If you made it this far, I know you are the real deal. We are having a sending party at my house on January 2nd, the night before I leave for ATL. Time TBD, we will have food and spend some time in prayer and say goodbyes, bring whoever you want, just let me know so we can get enough food.
