I’m in Africa!!! I am so pumped to be here! I have felt the draw to this area of Africa my whole life! Manistry month has commenced as well. That means there are 12 guys doing ministry on a single team for the whole month! We are with a ministry called Africa for Jesus and staying about a mile or two outside of Livingstone.
The ministry (or Manistry) for this month is most exciting. Tomorrow the team will be heading to a village outside the city for a few days to do physical work and home visits. We will also sit in on a 6 hour church service (can’t wait)! Next week we will head to another village, and apparently this one is a “village” village in the bush. We were told for that one we can’t go outside the village by ourselves due to the danger of wild elephants. Exciting stuff!
Our hosts here are pretty awesome! We are working and living with a couple of local guys who run the ministry. They encourage us to spend as much time with the Lord in prayer as possible, and to have a time to worship as a group every morning. It is an atmosphere that is not only on point missionally, but also spiritually, and that is a blessing as we lacked that sort of encouragement in India. Life is good in Zambia!
I had the opportunity to visit the famous Victoria Falls yesterday!! It was one of the most incredible experiences ever! The sound is deafening and the forces at work are powerful. I could only get out the words, “Wow, God!” I’d highly recommend everyone visit one day. It’s worth it.
