As I’ve been home from The Race for a bit now, I have tried and tried to write a letter cataloging all that took place this last year. But every time I immediately hit a block and am left without words.

This year was life-altering. I was challenged like I’ve never been challenged before. I grew in confidence and worth. Now, I hardly recognize the girl who launched last October. I never felt brave before I left. Now, I know I am.

More than what happened in my own life though, I had the pleasure of seeing what God did in other people’s lives. I saw the hurting healed, the tired renewed, and the downcast lifted. I helped care for widows and orphans, rich and poor, the young and the old. I spoke to people of many different religions – Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim. I’m reminded of when Jesus talks on sowing. There was a lot of sowing and watering. I also preached The Good News to willing hearts and saw some come to know the Lord. The harvest really is plentiful.

So… What now?

My heart for missions is more alive than ever. I feel the tug to go and I know I must respond faithfully.

This January I will be returning to the field for five more months of ministry. But, it’ll look a little different.

I have accepted the role of Alumni Squad Leader for a World Race team. My responsibilities are discipling and aiding a squad that will launch in January. So, I will be spending January – May with them in Southeast Asia.

When I was in college, God and I talked about discipleship. How pouring into one person who pours into another and then another is powerful in His kingdom. Now, He has called me into helping with the discipleship of 31 amazing people as they embark on an eleven month mission trip. I love empowering people. Walking beside them. Pushing them up when they don’t believe in themselves or giving them an extra boost when they do believe in themselves.

That is what this trip calls me to do. It calls me to love. Plus, it puts me back on the field to continue doing missions abroad. So, not only will I be ministering to the squad but also continuing ministry in other countries.

I need your help though. My first ministry goal through Adventures in Missions is $3,500. That covers food, lodging, and all transportation for the five months. I am also raising an additional $1,500. I am having my wisdom teeth removed. That amount will cover the payments I will have to make while gone for the five months. So, my current goal is $5,000.

There are a few ways to give.
