Things that are bad happen and we spend our time asking God “Why did this happen? And specifically why did this happen to me?” In our efforts to understand why, we push God away wanting to challenge Him and look in His eyes for an explanation. As we push away we miss out on the true gift of the whole experience. We miss out on His open arms… We miss out on His closeness, His presence and the pain of the situation is now multiplied by the pain of the distance between the one thing, one person we truly want; the love of Our Papa.
I love watching children! There is so much to learn from the purity of their hearts and actions. Think of when a child is playing with their parent and the child falls. The poor baby is hurt by the pain incurred from the scrapped knee, but they are also looking at dad with eyes that say “how could you let me fall?!?” But then daddy extends his arms to welcome his child in his embrace. Stupid adults sometimes choose to wallow in the fall and pout that this ever happened in the first place. But a child, in it’s purity, lets down all pretenses, lets down it’s guard and runs into it’s Father’s embrace.
Psalms 116:7-9 the ERV version says “My soul, relax! The Lord is caring for you. Lord you saved my soul from death. You stopped my tears. You kept me from fallling. I will continue to serve the Lord in the land of the living.”
So I’m vowing to not to be a stupid adult; like a child, I will run to my Papa and be a witness to His glory.
