The World Race, a trip I could only kind of describe to someone before I left. It was a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. I was going to live with locals and partner with them in their ministries, see healings, play with orphans and adventure. It was a far fetched idea that I had come up with by reading blogs and hearing alumni’s talk about the race, but little did I know how much this one trip was going to change my life.

So, what do I think The World Race is now?

The World Race is in fact a trip to 11 countries in 11 months, but it is more than a mission trip and it is more than just travelling the world, it is way different than any mission trip I have ever been on. It is more than changing the world. It is more than just 11 months of your life.

It is the start of living life on a mission. It is the start of learning how to build kingdom here on earth. It is a journey of figuring out your identity in the Lord, who He created you to be and where He is leading you. It is a journey of building a personal relationship with Him, where you don’t just pray and ask, but you have full conversations with Him. It is a journey of discovering the living God that we all have learned about. It’s a season of inner healing and dropping things you have struggled with. It is a season of beginning to walk in freedom as a child of God. It’s about partnering with locals that are already building kingdom. It’s about making His name known throughout the nations.

It isn’t all glorious and amazing. It is a really hard year of choosing in, when it is easy to choose out, getting sick, seeing and experiencing hard things, living and being around people 24/7 and never having anything that is constant and consistent other than God.

The World Race is a journey of finding out who you are as a child of God, while learning how to build kingdom and how to live missionally.

The World Race introduced me to so much and for that I am forever grateful. My walk with the Lord has grown and will continue to grow as I utilize what I learned this past year. It has brought me into a family. S-squad, the 50 people I did life with have become my family. They have prayed, laughed, cried, adventured and done life beside me. They know the true Quinn and they still love me. The World race changed S-squad. This program has started the fire. We never want to grow dim or weary. We want to make wherever we are our ministry. We want to build kingdom, we want to bring people to Christ wherever we are. Whether that is here at home, or if that is over sees.

We all bought in, even when it was hard. We chose to grow and learn this past year and trust where the Lord is calling us. It is so cool to see that the Lord is calling us all into different places, but brought us all together to kick start the fire.

So s-squad isn’t giving up. We are continuing to choose in and to make kingdom happen wherever we are. The Lord has done some amazing things in our lives and he has lead us to so many places.

Throughout the past year, we have gone to Asia, Eastern Europe and Southern Africa. We have experienced spiritual warfare, we have gone to weddings and funerals. We have prayed for people to accept Christ, while others have rejected Him. We have given flowers out in Thessaloniki, sandwiches in Athens and water bottles in Macedonia. We have played soccer with the slum children in Nepal. We have preached, and sang in multiple churches around the world. We did a Beauty for Ashes girls retreat in Albania. We have taught English. We have ran VBS, talked in rehab centres and done tons of home visits. We have fed and held small children in Swaziland. We have ran summer leadership camps in Zimbabwe. We have been hurt and heartbroken, but we have also been put back together and celebrated. We have done so much together as a squad, but it is now time to go our own ways and see what else the Lord has in store for us.

S-squad has taken on the challenge of continuing to build Kingdom far after these past 11 months. We have leaned into the Lord to direct our paths and see where he takes us. He has done so much in our lives, that we can’t wait to see where he takes us. Within this next year S-squad will no longer be all in one country, but will be spread across 4 different continents in at least 9 different countries. We have accepted the calling, stepped out in trust and are ready to go where ever he is leading us, so we have:

Sylvia & Michelle Alumni Squad Leading for F-squad in Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar.

Quinn & Tammy Alumni Squad Leading for D-squad in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, India and Nepal.

Lo Alumni Squad Leading in Malawi and Ecuador.

Allison Passport Leading in Thailand and Cambodia.

Allie Passport Leading in either Guatemala or India and Nepal.

Joanna Passport Leading in either India, Zambia, Ecuador or Nicaragua. (She finds out at the end of the month)

Kimmy and Bryce working as Bella Goose Coffee house directors in Thailand.

Krystal and Eric partnering with a church in Zimbabwe.

Brandon in Spain studying at G42 Leadership Academy.

Sara Santiago partnering with her host in South Africa

The rest of S-squad will be spread across the United States, where they will be diving back into normal every day life and learning how to live missionally at home. They will be building kingdom here and I am so excited for all of them and to see what the Lord does in and through them this next year and years to come.

The Lord has some amazing plans in store for us and all we had to do was step out in trust and go where He is calling us. S-squad is pretty great and I am so blessed to be able be a part of this family.

Thank you to all of our supporters who came alongside us. Thank you for investing not only in us, but also the kingdom. We couldn’t have done what we did without your partnership and we wouldn’t be going to the nations without your continued partnership!

S-squad is going to the nations, our race isn’t over yet!
