1. Having lunch with an Arabic tattoo artist at a falafel place with our new English friend in Nepal
2. Singing to the chief of a village in Botswana as a peace offering
3. Singing Row Row Row Your Boat to two middle aged men in a Korean coffee shop in Vietnam
4. Picking up our Korean Vietnam host (that we never thought we would see again) in Cambodia
5. Sitting at a dance bar in Nepal sipping on a Sprite while my group presented a skit about Jesus
6. Learning to yodel from our Korean house manager in Vietnam
7. Having our tuk tuk driver ask US for directions in his language in Cambodia when we have no idea where we are
8. Being ok with a rat rustling under my bed as long as he didn’t come on the bed (he came on the bed)
9. South Africa- Covering my neck in the middle of the night because I hear flapping that could possibly be a bat (it was in fact a bat)
10. Getting pushed by an angry market lady at the Russian market in Cambodia (I had accidentally knocked over some merchandise)
11. Fruit processional in a Cambodian wedding- We literally all had a gold platter of fruit and brought it to the bride and groom in a line
12. Five star lunch in Danang, Vietnam- we had just come off of a 19 hr bus ride travel day (looking super ratchet) and were brought to a fancy five course meal, steak salad, crab soup, crawfish, more steak, dessert. (We thought the first course was the whole meal and were super thankful)
13. Escalator pileup in India- our first arrival in a new country and we were already reaping havoc as we tried to wheel all our luggage on a moving sidewalk but ended up causing a traffic jam as most of the luggage fell and began to pileup (I accidentally body slammed a random Indian man with my day pack on my front as luggage and people kept piling up, also people were recording us)
14. Men bathing on a hill where we were staying in India – we were staying at seminary housing and were right next to the men’s housing and they would bathe at a communal water source (we only saw underwear and towels but it was still weird)
15. Our grandma for the month rubbing her dirty ring on my pants for friction to heat it up (almost causing a bruise on my leg lol) and putting it on my eye for my sty because it would help it in Argentina
16. Talking in a sketch phone booth in a casino in Chile because it was the only place to make an important bank call that would work
17. Having mime makeup on and using local transportation in Argentina
18. Using water shoes that are too small, a random coat, and gargling coconut oil and baking soda after drinking copious amount of hot water, lemon, and honey, because I have a cold in Chile
19. South Africa- Hearing someone apologize to the front desk because a monkey came into their room and broke the TV and it being absolutely true
20. Being heckled by a man on local transportation (a mini bus) about being American and coming into Swaziland thinking I was better than them, expecting to see only bush people and baboons resisting the urge to say that I have in fact seen monkeys
21. Being force fed (and I mean they had my head in their hands) a big spoon of onions and cilantro (I hate cilantro) because we had colds in Chile
22. Being on a bus for 50 hrs and wondering how all my friends are getting engaged, married, having kids and I’m here in the middle of nowhere Bolivia stuck in the mud
23. Being invited to a marriage event (we are all single) and proceeding to take part in a eating competition in Peru
24. Getting to a bus terminal after midnight, setting up my sleeping pad, looking around at my new homeless friends and peeing on the sidewalk (the bathrooms were locked)
25. A man bringing a bag to the boat we were working on and finding out there’s a cat in there that he kidnapped from his own house to catch the rat on the boat
