First and foremost, I’d like to thank you all for being here. For reading my reflection of the past 2016 year.

I was a shiny bright new graduate with big decisions to figure out and make. Going out and serving people was a feeling that I couldn’t shake.

But I continued making lattes at Panera and then some smoothies too. All the while I kept on searching, when out of the blue; I came upon a website when I prayed “Send me a clue.”

It seemed far fetched and crazy, but it also seemed so very right. I wrestled many months going from “Nah,” to “Ok, I might.”

I had many supportive friends who didn’t want to see me go, but helped until the end, with this dream I had to follow.

The funds I had to raise seemed so daunting and unattainable, but God came through in a way I can’t explain or even label.

Since the start I knew, what I needed was a miracle. I think that pleased the Lord, after all my faith was biblical.

A few months down the road and I was almost fully funded, my funding bar went from one percent and then it was one hundred.

Training camp was blurry, with port-o-potties and team formations, then we went to India, which was our beginning destination.

We learned about the Hmar people which live in North East India, and learned about their culture that doesn’t make it on the media.

Then we flew to Kathmandu and also saw Mt. Everest, we went to help the people there, but also found that we were blessed.

In Vietnam our duty was to teach the students English, we also taught them our traditions and about our Christmas.

The new year started on a sleeper bus, two rats in different beds, and then a stomach bug.

But now we’re in Cambodia, living in a church, I hope to learn to dwell in Him, and not be on the search.

So that is a short summary, of the year that passed, more blogs are to follow, this shall not be the last.
