Hi everyone!
My name is Nicholas Buford, Nick for short, and I going on an ADVENTURE!
If you don’t already know me, here are some basis:
I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I have lived here all of my 22 years. Animals are awesome. I will play pretty much any sport if you ask. I started a business when I was 15. My soon to be ex-cat is named Dexter (BTW anyone want the best cat ever?). And I love to try new exciting things and expand my experience and knowledge of the world.
You could say that my journey to the world race started 6 years ago when I went on my first missions trip to Romania. On that trip God ignited a burning desire in my heart for the lost around the world. To this day, God has allowed me to travel to over 15 countries and to be part of 14 short term mission trips.
But everything changed on Feb. 12, 2016 when God told me out of the blue that he wanted me to go on the world race and within 31 days I was on the trip! No more 8-11 day trips, but a full blown 13 countries in 11 months.
As I said before, “I am going on an adventure,” but not just because I will be going to 13 countries. This adventure will include getting to know my 36 new best friends, seeing God move in every way possible in every country in South America, growing in my faith and closeness with God, and lastly leaving everything that I have known and held onto for the past 22 years, except for what I can pack into a backpack.
