Month 7 has come to an end and I board a bus from Athens to Sofia in a few short hours! Here is a look into what my travels looked like in this month: From Skopje (Macedonia) to Thessaloniki (Greece) to Athens back to Thessaloniki to Skopje to Budapest (Hungary) and then back through Thessaloniki to Athens. This month has been one full of travel and great adventures.

Ask the Lord month brought us to many different areas of Athens and to many different outreach opportunities. We got to serve alongside existing Refugee ministries where we played with the children, distributed clothes, handed out meals, and jumped in wherever we were needed. Refugee ministry was something all of us wanted to do this month, so it was amazing to have the Lord answer this desire. We met men, women, children, and whole families that were from Syria, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other places. It truly was incredible to hear their stories and form friendships with them.

When we weren’t serving at the refugee ministries you could find our team passing out sandwiches, going on prayer walks, holding up a “free conversation” sign by the Parthenon, sharing in a bible study, or spending quality time pouring into each other.

ATL month gave us the opportunity to trust that God would speak to us and show us places and people to serve…and He did speak to us! I am extremely grateful for the unstructured month we had and how it will help all of us bring ATL back into our daily lives back home.

I never thought that I would end up in Athens, Greece on the race, but God continues to have surprises around every corner of this epic journey!

A HUGE shoutout to Hillary and Jessica’s parents for blessing us with a three day trip to Santorini for some rest and adventure! It was a huge blessing to have a few days to rest in a real bed and share such a beautiful place with seven amazing friends!

Every day that goes by on the race is such a sweet and sacred memory and adventure. I still can’t believe that traveling around the world has become such a casual and normal thing that happens once a month. THANK YOU to everyone who continues to follow along and support me through prayer! I wouldn’t be where I’m at without all of you!

Until Next Time,

Michelle
