This is WAY OVERDUE, so I’m apologizing now!
I guess it was about a month ago now, most of my team ventured to Cape Town for 2 days before we started our last month of ministry in South Africa! We traveled along with our new friend Paul who is another missionary for Adventures who was getting ready to go to Nepal to start a mission there with a small team!
I’m going to just have some pictures in here to show some of the highlights of the trip!
Day 1: We took a bus and a flight; checked into our Air B&B, got food, Kenzie, Alys, Kaiti, and Paige went back to rest while Paul, Jess, and I explored Cape Town! We checked out cafes and possible places to eat/shop! Then we went back and rested for a few hours. After a few hours, we all went out (minus Kenzie and Kaiti who weren’t feeling well to grab a beer, shop/explore, and then grab dinner. It was a fun outing!

Day 2: It was a busy Sunday! We attended 2 church services (morning and evening) at Hillsong Church: Cape Town and GOT TO SEE BRIAN HOUSTON PREACH! (co-founder of Hillsong church in Australia!) We then went out to lunch with one of Paige’s college friends who is studying abroad in Cape Town and then traveled to Boulder Beach TO SEE THE PENGUINS! We then traveled back for the evening service then ate at a Mexican restaurant. What a packed- fun filled day!

Day 3: Was Table Mountain day! Paul, Alyssa, Paige, and I wanted to hike up it while McKenzie, Kaiti, and Jess wanted to take the cable car up and hike down (they ended up taking the cable car down, as did we but had to wait forever!) We were then supposed to go to a winery in the afternoon (but hiking took way too long so we didn’t.) On Sunday we met people in line for church who owned an “Indian restaurant” (was more like a sports bar that served Indian food haha) that they invited us to come and enjoy a meal FOR FREE! It was awesome and so good!

On the very top of Table Mountain; took us over 4 hours to reach the top! Left to right: Paigey, Alys, me, and “Hi I’m Paul!”

The obligatory “I’m on top of a mountain,” picture!

Dressing up on the Race is hard BUT totally do-able! Yay for sharing make-up, hair appliances, and clothes! Left to right: Paigey, Kaiti, me, Kenzie, Alys, and Jessica
Day 4: We slept in, got breakfast at a healthy vegan-ish cafe thing, shopped, and explored, and I had “Poke” for the first time with Kaiti and Kenzie. I still can say I don’t like fish, but I tried it and liked everything else in the bowl! Then we caught our flight to Durban to begin month 11 ministry and to reunite with Becs, who we missed while on vacation!
