A Farewell to "It Is Goode" - Explore Archived World Race Alumni Blogs

I wanted to take some time to tell you all how wonderful my first team on the World Race was! These 5 ladies: Jord, Jan, Klance, Abby, and Rach will forever be ingrained in my heart! We shared so many wonderful memories together from our very first outing as a team back in training camp when we didn’t even know each other, through launch, India, Nepal, Vietnam, and Cambodia. We went through 1 Debrief, 1 LDW, and 1 Awakening together. We shared countless laughs, tears, wisdom/insight, prayers, and food with each other and walked each other through healing in many ways.

They will forever be my sisters. I can’t express to you how much they mean to me and always will mean to me. Below I wanted to share some fun times I experienced with each one and how much they mean to me!

JORD, J-DAN, RAPUNZEL (from Tangled) (aka Jordan)

Jord is SUCH a beautiful person inside and out. She constantly sees the best in people, even when those people are not showing their best in the moment. She has the ability to see people for who they can become, how they can grow! She is such a strong person in so many ways, which is a GREAT thing! She is not afraid to have conversations with people to show them how to improve to be more like Jesus. She allowed us into her life, had her walls come down, and showed us courage by letting us help her through vulnerable things. You are CHOOSEN! You are BELOVED! You are WORTHY OF LOVE! You are CAPTIVATING! You are WISE and INSIGHTFUL! Thanks for always being a listening ear and offering advice. Jord, thank you for always telling me I am beautiful. I love you and am excited to see you as a Team Leader in this next leg of the Race!

Favorite memories: quoting Bridemaids with you whenever possible and watching it with you TWICE! So glad we have the same sense of humor!

JAN, MAMA, TIANA (from Princess and the Frog) (aka Janet)

Jan is one of the most loving people you will ever meet in your entire life. She thrives when it comes to taking care of people (even when they don’t want to admit they need it cough, cough) and catering to people’s every need. She pays attention to the little details in life that others often miss or overlook. She is the biggest fan of birthdays and celebrating them with you! Her heart and soul for the children in the foster care system is so inspiring. God has AMAZING plans for you Jan! She loves to sing and worships with every part of her being. She leads often without realizing it! She has grown so much in her relationship with Our Father, it has been beautiful! Keep walking in that freedom and HELP LEAD OTHERS into that freedom! Jan seeing you literally transform before our eyes both spiritually and physically has been absolutely incredible! You are just ON FIRE for God and your prayer life is inspiring! I am excited to see you thrive in your new team and continue pouring into our squad with everything you have to offer! Love you so much, you are the greatest!

Favorite memories: our bed talks, snuggles, watching movie times when we shared a bed in ‘Nam, and building the fence/all of the conversations while building the fence!

KLANCE/BANCY KATE KLAKER/FATEESHA/BABY KLANCE/KLANCY PANTS, MERANNA (Merida from Brave and Anna from Frozen)(aka Klancy)

Klancy is one of the most uniquely beautiful souls I have ever met. She is so in tune with discernment and the Holy Spirit, it always astounds me when I remember she is only 21 years old! She is full of such spirit and passion anytime she talks. She is an actress so her stories and anytime she talks is very animated and dramatic! She is a girl that you want around because the joy she exudes is contagious! She goes from having a very deep conversation/wisdom to a ridiculous question or silly story. Klancy has this amazing sense of openess and boldness where she often talks to strangers on the street and just genuinely wants to know about them/their story! She has a heart of gold, full of compassion! She also will turn into “Fateesha” if the right song is playing. Klancy I cannot wait to see the depth you bring to your new team as you continue to grow even more in your walk with the Lord. You are inspiring and I love you more than you know, even if you desire to kiss my nose (which is never happening by the way). #FreeFateesha #FateeshaStrong

Favorite memories: anytime you danced as Fateesha, and all of the deep conversations we have had, I’ve cherished them all!

A-B, AURORA (from Sleeping Beauy) (aka Abby)

Abby is one of the most caring people you will ever meet. She is literally beautiful inside and out. She desires to see growth in your walk with the Lord just as much as her own walk with the Lord. She is so wise beyond her years, (we celebrated her turning 23 back in ‘Nam) it is so encouraging. There have been many times where everyone on our team has gone to her for her insight, knowledge, and prayers. She is such a warrior for God! Abby literally has the voice of an angel and when she worships, you get goosebumps because of the power it carries. She has been getting better and better at her guitar playing skills (I’m so proud). She can be super serious but also be silly, goofy, and weird. We appreciate her weirdness! Abby, you have grown SO much as a leader and daughter of the King over the past 4 months. It has been such a blessing to watch you go from being super intimidated to OWNING your role as Team Leader and knocking your walls down, letting us into your mess! I love you and am so happy God gave me a younger sister on my first team. LOVE YOU (I love you sign, rock on sign, hand hug)!

Favorite memories: FINALLY performing together in church/making our debut (only took us 4 months) and establishing our handshake!

RACH, RAE, JASMINE (from Aladdin) (aka Rachel)

Rach has been my rock since I passed a rock in India (lol Kidney stone humor for you). She is the one who is quiet and observant at first, but then opens up and is really fun and full of sas! Rach has spoken so much insight over me and into my life, it has truly been a blessing! I have loved our early morning coffee shop dates and our hours and hours of conversation. Rach has given me some of my confidence back and has just been so encouraging! She has grown so much in her walk with God, it has been awesome. Rach is really good at expressing concern and giving feedback to the group in such a loving way. She is so great with kids and lights up the whole room when she talks about her friends and family; especially her “nuggets,” (nieces and nephew). Rach is our introvert who loves her quiet time by reading or watching a movie, don’t disturb her when her headphones are in and don’t try to wake her up for anything if she falls asleep! Rach, I cannot wait to see how the Lord stretches and grows you with this next team! I love you so much!

Favorite memories: getting lost in Thamel, finding coffee shops, water day

Team “It Is Goode,” is finished but not forgotten. I am a better person because of how these ladies have helped me grow and have challenged me in so many ways. Keep pursuing the Lord ladies!
