For the past month my team has been serving in at the YWAM base in Ratchaburi Thailand. We have amazing hosts who love this community so much and are serving in so many capacities. During the week we have gotten to run English camps and teach in elementary schools. We spent a few days at a Juvenile detention center hanging out with the girls there and share our lives and the gospel with them. One weekend we stayed in a village on the border of Thailand with Burmese Community not far from a refugee camp. Here we got to encourage the local church and preach on Sunday. Additionally the rest of our time was spent getting to know the kids and playing with them.
I have gotten to see every individual woman on my team be broken down and the Lord restoring them to healing. I love it when the Lord points out to me each way every individual is growing and getting to witness who they are becoming. There has been healing, restoration, and empowerment, as they draw closer to the Father and allow the Spirit to have his way in their hearts.
This for me might be my favorite part of leading Semesters trips. I love our set ministry and organizations we get to bless and partner with, but ultimately I thrive on witnessing the Lord’s hand in every individual and how they will use this time of growth to further impact the Kingdom.
For myself this past month has been very stretching for me. The Lord has grown me a lot in what it means to surrender to him. It doesn’t mean to be detached and unaware of whats going on, but it also doesn’t mean that I have to do everything and be everything to everyone all the time. Its choosing every day to surrender my spirit to the Holy Spirit and invite him into my decisions, conversations, and time spent at planned ministry as well as time with my team. Allowing the Lord to use my mind and words as a vessel, but recognizing for myself who is truly moving and speaking. Its not my flesh but the Spirit.
