Coming to Africa has been an absolute dream of mine since I was a little girl. I knew of some countries in Africa, like Kenya, Uganda, etc. some of the most common countries but I had never heard of Swaziland.

This month we got to spread alot of love to many children by playing soccer with them, reading books, digging trenches to make a tire fence around the playground, sang lots of songs and wiped alot of tears. Due to wifi not being strong enough, I can’t upload pictures at this time but I promise to upload them when I am able!

I absolutely love Africa and the people here just have so much joy it’s contagious! They have so little to their name but they still are thankful for what the do have and never complain about what they don’t have. It’s a lesson a lot of us can learn. It makes me realise how blessed I am to live in a country where I have everything at my fingertips. I have access to just about anything I want or need and I am blessed to have a job where I can earn money to provide for myself. There are so many people here  who don’t have jobs because there isn’t enough work to go around yet they still don’t complain.

In Zimbabwe, we heard a women talk about how she didn’t have enough money for electricity, running water, and school fees for her grandchildren, only barely enough for food. Yet, the only thing she asked us for was prayer because that’s what would stustain her and her family. She knew that God would continue to provide for her even though she never knew where her next meal would come from. It was truly incredible hearing her story and it made me so thankful for what I have.

Think about the blessings God has given you and next time you’re in want of something, think about if you really need it or could you use that money to be a blessing to someone else.
