Pomorie, Bulgaria
So, ministry while we were in Bulgaria was not what we were expecting. We knew that since we were with first time host’s, it would be trial and error but we thought we would have more to do than what actually happened.
Our first week, we mainly just got a feel for the city and started making some relationships with some people around town by getting coffee or when we went to the beach. We were confused at what we were doing there but we knew God had a purpose for that city we just didn’t know what that was yet.
Our second week, we got the opportunity to go to a youth camp up in the mountains and to participate in the camp. Keep in mind, we are all between the ages of 23-27 and we were going to “youth” camp. Funny, I know. ?? We weren’t told a lot of information about the camp other than it was a youth camp and that we would be camping. Cool! We haven’t been able to use our tents on the race yet! So, when we got there, we learned there were over 1,000 people there. Mostly youth groups but other families and little children as well. It’s a good thing we know how to adapt! We made it our “ministry” for that week to get to know the kids in our youth group and make relationships with them. It was interesting to hear all their different stories and what they believe spiritually. It was a very long week filled with a session every morning and a session every night, each for 3 hours. God blessed us with one of the pastor’s sons, Daniel, who spoke great English who was willing to translate for us during the sessions. We also had another translator, Nicole, who was such a blessing as well!
Our last week there, we hung out with the youth and spoke at a few churches. It was a great way to wrap up our time in Bulgaria! We also got to go to a water park with some of the youth! We made a lot of great friendships, as well as being able to encourage and spread the Gospel!
Now, onto Zimbabwe, Africa!!!!!
