First of all, I would like to introduce you all to my new 57 brothers and sisters that I will be working along side next year!
That’s right! There are 58 of us in S Squad and I am so happy and blessed to be surrounded by all these amazing people! Going into training camp, hardly knowing anyone was nerve wracking but the love everyone had for each other from day one was incredible! We all bonded super fast and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for all of us!
Now, onto Training Camp!
There aren’t enough words to describe training camp. I have never felt more broken, yet healed, and more exhausted, yet thankful. Let me explain.
“more broken, yet healed”
God broke me at training camp. He made me work through so much that everything just broke on the inside. He brought up things from my past I had thought I had pushed aside, He stirred up so many different emotions that I didn’t know how to handle on my own. I realized at TC that I am a broken, child of God who needs to be healed constantly. God helped me work though everything, and He healed me. He healed me spiritually and emotionally. He wrapped His arms around me and called me daughter, His child, and I am LOVED by HIM. He let me witness the miracle of my friend’s ankle being healed instantly, right in front of my eyes. No one will ever tell me or try to convince me that God is not real or doesn’t exist because I know the truth and the truth will always set me free. He was, is, and always will be.
“more exhausted, yet thankful”
Now, don’t believe for a second that TC was all fun. Not at all. Try sleeping in a tent for 10 nights straight, in the freezing cold (some nights), having to share your belongings with complete strangers, being forced to use porta potties and no running water, eating all kinds of weird, unidentifiable foods (for instance, a cricket, which I ate) that if you don’t eat, then you starve (snacks are a MUST HAVE at TC), while having to take freezing bucket showers (make sure you don’t forget your towel in your tent). But, in the midst of all the unenjoyable events, you start to count your blessings. The blessings of having running water and clean bathrooms to return home to, any food you can imagine right at your fingertips, a nice, comfortable, clean bed to sleep in and a roof over your head and the list goes on. I am extremely blessed. And thankful. Thankful that God will always provide for me, that He will never give me something that I can’t handle and that He has called me to the World Race. I am so very thankful for all of my teammates, my mentors, leaders, coaches, supporters, friends, family and anyone else who I forgot to mention. I can’t do it with out everyone’s support and belief in me.
I only have 8 more weeks in the states until I leave. My prayer and goal is to get completely funded before I leave so please prayerfully consider donating!

Thank you all for supporting me! Until next time,
Leah
