As our time in Vietnam comes to a close I can’t help but be completely and utterly grateful for the time spent here. This is the first month it is incredibly hard for me to leave. Although our schedules are busy and we don’t have much free time it has been such a great month! I have made so many good friends and have really fallen in love with this country, the people and the town I was in.
Teaching English, while hard and draining has been so fun and awesome to do! This month I have had many opportunities to share the gospel, and those opportunities didn’t stop there. I took them! I dove in head first. I wasn’t afraid to share with people why I believed what I did.
Outside of the awesome opportunities to share the gospel, we have had so many great opportunities to build relationships with the students here at the local university. These students have become so much more than that. They have become our friends! People we want to see and when they walk into the cafe we teach at we get excited to see them. People we laugh with but also have serious conversations. These friends are so special to me and my whole team! We are blessed by who they are and how they serve. I have learned more about being a servant to all people this month that I ever have before.
These students that have only known us for 3 weeks so far have been serving my team and I so well. They buy us juice, smoothies, take us out for karaoke, buy us candy, take us out for meals and so forth. They have made us feel welcome and loved in so many ways!
The days spent here in Vietnam are days I will treasure forever and I will always be thankful for them. This country has stolen my heart in more ways than one and saying goodbye tomorrow is going to be so so hard.

I had a friend whose parents were missionaries overseas for many years. My friend used to talk about how difficult saying goodbye was for him. But that he had to do it pretty often. I never really understood what that was like but I think I’m starting to get a glimpse. It’s hard to make good friends and awesome memories and then have to leave not knowing when or if you’ll ever see them again.

I guess now it’s time to get ready to head to Cambodia!
Vietnam, you’ve been so great! Thank you for the memories, the friends and all the awesome experiences.
   Until next time…. 🙂
