I’m in Vietnam now but I wanted to let you all know about my time in the villages in Nepal last week.
We left on a bus for the villages on February 27th, the ride was about 4-5 hours and we drove all through the mountains almost the whole time.
One thing I forgot to mention, while we were in Nepal, it was all squad month so instead of being with just my team of 6 girls, my entire squad of 55 people were all staying in the same town and house all month. It was really cool to get to spend the whole month with all of them!
When we went to the villages, instead of all going together they split us in half, so 4 teams went to the mountains and 4 went to the Jungle. I was in the mountains. So myself, my team and 3 others teams all traveled up to a town called Dum Re.
We stayed there for 4 days with our Leader(Dilip)’s parents. They were so sweet and we called them Ama(mother) and Booa(father). They cooked us really good food and treated us so well! I loved the time we spent there. One day we hiked up a mountain and pr@yed for the city, and then went into the cave at the top of the mountain to explore. It was so neat! Afterwards, we went to a little church…pretty sure it was held in someone’s home but I’m not 100% positive. One of the girls on my squad gave message of a encouragement to them and afterwards they brought us tea and cookies while a few of my squad mates prayed for some of the people in the church one by one.
It’s days like that one when I’m just amazed that this is the life I get to live. How cool?
Here is a video that shows more about what I mentioned in this blog.
