So while we were still in Cambodia, at the end of the month we traveled to Siem Reap where our squad was united with 3 other World Race squads for an event called The Awakening. The Awakening is a 3 day time for squads to get together from different parts of the Race along with ministry hosts and attend sessions and training. I Squad is in month 10 of their Race, O Squad is in month 8 of their race, and then us, S squad, we are in month 5! Then another squad (T Squad) last minute was asked to work at the hostile we were staying at for the Awakening for their ministry month.

In our training, there were different teams you could choose to be apart of for the 3 days. Intersession team, Mission team, Worship team, and Hospitality team. They assigned point people for each team, which was two people from each squad to lead the sessions. I had the privilege to be a point person, along with my brother Matthew from my squad, for the Intersession team. It was really great, because we were able to lead Intersession with 2 other people from each squad attending as well, and we were able to build relationships with them and that was really special.

For intersession team, we were able to just really speak about how important prayer is, and what it means to intercede on behalf of our brothers and sisters in prayer. We were able to stand in the back during worship in the morning, afternoon and night sessions and just be available to pray for people if they needed prayer. It was awesome to be able to step in and fight for people in prayer, especially with people we didn’t know all that well.

Prayer has become such an incredible passion of mine over the last couple of months, and the Awakening was just adding fuel to the fire! It was so good!!

After the Awakening was over, my squad stayed in Siem Reap for our debrief. This debrief was unlike our debrief in Nepal, because this one called for TEAM CHANGES. DUN DUN DUN!!!!!
At first, I will be honest, I was pretty nervous about this because although I do love change, I had really gone through so much with my first team, and I just had a little bit of anxiety about starting all new relationship with other people.

I was asked by leadership to step into a leadership position by being a team leader. The Lord had brought this up to me in Cambodia, and it was fitting, because I had been praying for this before I had even been asked to be in this position. God is good. But this was a step that I was excited, but also a little intimidated to walk in. However, the Lord is so good in just working things out beautifully and placing people so uniquely and perfectly on teams.

My new team is amazing!!
I loved my first team, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.
But I am beyond grateful for this fresh team to do life with for the next couple months.

I am going to try to post a picture to this blog of all 7 of us. But if it doesn’t post, look to the left of your computer screen and my new team, (team R 1:16) is listed there. If you are on your phone, look at the top left corner of your screen and hit the 3 horizontal lines, and go to “Meet My Team: R 1:16”
These women are fighters, and are on fire for the Lord. They are supportive, and loving and I am so excited to build strong relationships with each of them. They are all unique and each play such a vital role on this team.

Stay tuned for my next blog on how INSANE Thailand has been! HOLY COW!
