This picture was before the madness.
Look at those happy faces! ^^^^ (I’m taking a video during this picture just to clarify)
The wait is over!
I am finally going to write a blog about how crazy my Bungee adventure day was!
I will start with the fact that our bus ride was INSANE!
I remember driving in the mountains of Hawaii with my family, and the swerves and curves were brutal! But we were driving on roads that some motorcycles shouldn’t have been driving on. We were in a bus! The ride was an adventure in itself.
When we got to the resort we were bungee jumping at, we were all sooo pumped, but also terrified!
All we saw was a long bridge like the ones you see in movies that EVERYONE is afraid to walk across. We soon realized that that was what we were jumping off of!
I did the bungee and the canyon swing. I will say that I enjoyed the canyon swing MUCH more than the bungee. I’ll explain why.
So before bungeeing we were all taught the proper way to jump. You’re supposed to jump out like you’re going to belly flop, not feet first. You’re also supposed to keep your eyes focused forward and DO NOT LOOK DOWN. ?WELL…..I did just about as opposite as you can get….
As I walked out on the platform, I immediately looked down.
First mistake.
As they were helping me out to the edge of the platform I was FREAKING out. Mostly because I looked down, but also because I was literally about to jump 500 feet off of this stinkin’ bridge. Also, let me just say that the men helping me off this dang bridge were pressuring me to jump way before I was ready, and I had to tell them to chill a minute so I could breathe!
In that, I ended up jumping before I was ready, and I of course jumped feet first.
When I realized that I had jumped feet first while I was in MID AIR, I panicked and flailed my arms like a maniac to try to flip myself so I wouldn’t get dang whiplash! I succeeded, but being upside down was not my favorite thing in the world. HOWEVER, it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. I think if I wouldn’t have been as panicked, I would have enjoyed it more. But how do you not panic when you’re free falling off of a bridge…..?
See that form?? That’s how NOT to bungee. Bahaha!
Please tell me you’re laughing as much as I was when you saw this last action shot^^^
CRAZY!
We also went Canyon swinging and it was AMAZING! It’s literally a straight drop even further down than the bungee. I’m not exactly sure how far down in comparison, but it was a significant difference. This one is just a gigantic swing and it is NUTS! I went with my friend Quinn so we got to do tandem so it was a lot better than jumping all by yourself! And we laughed and screamed soooo dang much. It was so cool. Also, and Quinn can testify to this, the men were legit kicking our feet closer to the edge. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t yell at them…
We got videos and pictures of all of it, but wifi is AWFUL all the time and won’t download. So I have sent it to my parents to hopefully get the videos downloaded and hopefully I’ll be able to get them sent to me at some point.
Look at these cool cats. I wouldn’t want to jump off a bridge without them all there with me!
I hope this has thoroughly entertained you! It was quite the experience.
I love you all! More blogs to come!
