Shrek, anyone?
This is the story behind Team Boulder.
On the Race, you go through many changes. Personal, spiritual, emotional, the works. Your squad will change as people decide to go home or are sent home for extenuating circumstances. Teams will change too. You start out with a team and stay with that team for the first four months. My first team, as well as the four other teams on my squad, were split up just last week at our debrief in Jinja, Uganda.
Enter many changes for many people.
I was asked to become a team leader, which I was very excited to have the opportunity for. Some previous team leaders became squad leaders, and some previous team leaders stepped out of their positions to allow others the chance to lead. I was asked to team lead just 16 hours before teams changed. No one knew what the next set of teams would look like.
That second day of debrief we were given our team assignments, and I won’t lie I was a little nervous to find out. However, my team is a blessing. I was excited to read that list, I knew all these girls were amazing!

My new team consists of my friends Angela, Kori, Paige, and Corrie. We are Team Boulder!
We decided on that name for two main reasons: we each had the desire to grow bolder in our faith, to grow bolder in how we share Jesus, and to grow bolder in how we use our words. The other reason was Matthew 7:24, because we want to be women who re wise and build our homes, our faith, on the Rock. Hence the reason it’s spelled boulder; we love a good play-on-words!
Already this month we have been presented with opportunities to grow bolder. We are preaching two to three times a week, teaching children in a school, and visiting a hospital once a week to pray with people for healings and bring them encouraging words.
It is going to be a life-changing and faith-building month for the Boulder Girls! Thank you for praying for each of us and for the team while we are in Rwanda for the next few weeks. We appreciate it so much!
With love,
Hope and The Boulder Girls

As always, thank you to my sponsors who, through their giving, have provided me this opportunity to be on the Race. With that, I would like to announce that I am just $664 away from hitting $14,000! My next goal after that is to be fully funded, which would be $2,961 more. The deadline for this goal has already past, so I do need the funds to come through as soon as possible. God is able and I am so grateful for everything He has already done!
If you would, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to my mission. You can do so here on my blog by clicking the “Donate” tab. My only desire is to be fully funded, so I can continue this mission and not have to worry about finances. Thank you so much for your generosity!
