The heart of the World Race is being willing to be in uncomfortable situations in order to take away the crutches or barriers that keep us from completely leaning on God! Training camp has been the first step for me in this process. From sleeping in strange places to taking bucket showers to having to eat rice, lentils, and creamy meat without plates or utensils. Each and every experience here can be summed by a milestone I had a this morning, Eating Crickets for Breakfast! They were strange, challenging to chose, and not as bad as I thought it would be!

Although many things these past 10 days have been physical, the spiritual training has been just as intense. They have challenged us to be extremely vulnerable and transparent with where we really are and what we are really feeling, but instead of trying solve/fix our problem they just listen and stand with expectancy that God is going to show you everything you need. It has been crazy to see what actually happens when a group of believers come together expecting God to move! Arms get healed, hearts are broken, and God shows how incredibly He loves you! It has been breathtaking.

For me it has been a hard process of being a part of these groups and not giving my thoughts on how to “solve their problems”. It has been an eye opener to how much I have personally placed my value in being the person who “helps solve your problems” and how unwanted I feel when I don’t have that role to fill. This week God has started the beautifully challenging process of showing me how he truly sees me and the only place I have value to Him is when I am sitting in the role of just being His Daughter, nothing more and nothing less!

The even stranger part of this processes is doing it with these 56 people that I just meet 10 days ago. It’s a bizzarre feeling knowing someone’s insecurities, hurts, and failures while struggling to remember their name! ??

Although this is the journey I have been going through, I do not think it is a process just limited to World Racers. I think this strange, challenging, process of uncomfortably is one God calls all of us to in order to show that He is the ONLY ONE who can meet all of your desires so precisely and with no end. I believe He allows those challenges in your job, your family, your friends, your security, your resources, your whatever to show you the crutch you are walking with! He wants you to walk with Him through every season of your life, putting your complete faith and trust in Him.

I encourage you today to be honest with yourself and willingly chose to eat some Crickets for Breakfast!!! ??
