Week one.
We are just starting realize what we got ourselves into. The heat, the bugs, the language barrier, THE HEAT! The uncomfortableness of life in Cambodia. BUT we are also just start to realize the richness. The food, the people, the community, the cool night breezes, and the magnificent thunder storms. The richness of this culture. It’s amazing and awe inspiring. This is my second time in Cambodia, and while the first time was pretty amazing, I have a feeling that the Lord has some amazing things planned for this particular journey. God has taken me in a full circle. This is where I first felt my heart come alive for Missions. But over the past three years, he’s just taught me to live as love and that “missions” is just part of everyday life with Jesus. And I’m definitely still learning. My journey with Jesus really began on a passport trip to Thailand and Cambodia. And now God has given me the opportunity to lead nine amazing women right back to where it started for me. These women are courageous, bold, and passionate for the Lord. They are getting to experience Him in new ways and learn more and more about his character everyday. For some, this is another big step in their walk with Jesus, for others this is the first step in their walk with Him. No matter what part of life they are coming from, I’ve seen each of them press deeper into intimacy with God. It’s truly inspiring and I’ve learned so much from them the past week. I can’t wait to see how far they go and what God takes them through. This is only the beginning, and if God can do this much in a week, how much can He do in three months!?
