Hey family!
It’s time for an update! I want to apologize for three months of silence. Wifi and time for blogs is hard to find. This week is my last week in the beautiful country of India. We have been living in different states throughout northeast India for the past three months. It has been an incredible experience. I’ve met so many amazing people and seen and done so many new things. The Lord has taken me to places with him I never thought I’d go and He has shown me so much about who I am and who he has created to me. I’ve learned what the word chosen means and how to live a life knowing that I am chosen by Him. I have seen miracles and the power of God’s love everyday. India has changed my heart for the world in so many ways. India is and I think always will be one of my favorite places. Month 1 of India we lived in the state of Mizoram and worked in a small mountain village. We lived and worked with PMS schools, teaching English and hanging out with the students and local hostelars. I taught class 3 and 4 English. I loved my students. They were a little crazy which is just how I like it. We met an incredible man whom we called pastor that was 87 years old. Everyday we would visit homes, churches or schools and would see pastor walking up and down the streets everyday. This man brought my team and I so much joy and by the time we left the Lord allowed my squad leader and our team to hear the full life story of a man who didn’t speak English. That was miracle number 1. Month 2 and we had team changes. My new team and I left for the state for Tripura for the next month and a half moving from village to village to uplift the local churches, offer prayer, and occasionally lead a VBS. The Lord worked in last two months more than I have ever seen. These villages changed my perspective on hospitality! These people gave everything they had to us and served us so well! I felt beyond blessed by them. One village in particular showed me what healing looks like over and over again. The Lord healed so many people both physically and spiritually. The Holy Spirit moved in so many lives. We were able to do things like hold a women’s night for locals to talk about things that are not talked about here like physical abuse. So much freedom was brought that night and Jesus moved in one Hindi woman’s life! It was amazing and I would love to share details over coffee sometime. India is hard, It’s loud, Squatty potties are definitely a thing and I have been sick much of the time here. I have seen things that broke my heart and things that make me so thankful to have a home in US, but throughout this whole time the Lord has shown me the most beautiful things about India. Things like red sunsets, a colorful culture, kids that have the best smiles, and people who have very little but give everything. The Lord has taught me here that I have no lack. That even though I am wealthy is this world, the treasure I have because of his love is far greater. He is showing how wealthy these people are because of Him. These people are on fire for Christ! They are on fire for the Holy Spirit and because of them and what God is doing in them, there is going to be a revival in India. I leave for Africa in 3 days but this place and these people will eternally be in my heart! Thank you so much to everyone who helped me get here. Don’t be surprised if I come back to India in the future, I have a feeling we’re not done yet.
