“…and I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there. When I’m standing on the Mountain…”- queue interruption of the Holy Spirit “take out your headphones and say hello.

As I’m sitting on a bumpy bus ride that is about to take hours, do I listen and take out the headphones or do I enjoy the rest of this song that I have for sure over played throughout my month of being in the country of Hills and Valleys (insert song name drop here).

I obey and take out my headphones to say hello to the red haired blue-eyed kind soul that sat beside me on the bus. Where were we headed? Up north because one, we got north in a prayer and two, to have a fun excursion canyoning in the Himalayas.

WOW FRIENDS WOW

I got blessed beyond belief in my conversation with my new friend Philip.   It’s so cool when you’re brought to new nations because the Lord called you there, and that is your only excuse for why you’re there. As many travelers ask the question, why are you here? What made you choose Nepal? Our answers when we have planned our travels can easily result in “oh we’re going to see the highest mountain in the world” or “because the beaches are awesome dude, surfs up”. However, when you’re path and plan is to wake up and ask the Lord “what do you have today” our responses turn into well, Jesus brought us here. One of my favorite answers is “I’m here to talk to YOU”. Isn’t it so common that we push aside the people we experience every single day because we’re so focused on an end goal of one thing or another?!

Yet our days and lives are meant to be interrupted. They’re meant to focus on something greater, something more than this world and definitely greater than ourselves.

I could go into serious depth on my conversation with Philip and will for sure if you ask me and maybe write a separate blog about the conversation in itself. But for this blog alone, the importance of sharing is for us to be intentional with what and who is right in front of us. Who is in front of you? Even when we’re doing fun things for ourselves, the Lord is capable of blessing us with far more than our brains can imagine.

Phil ended up choosing to join my team and I on our canyoning excursion as he was just going to bungee jump but soon got to spend the entire trip with us – yay new friends. So many questions, so much encouragement and a whole lot of love was shared throughout our short trip. God can do anything in a day – are we giving Him a day to do something in? Let alone all of them?

God bless and forever be seeking <3
