Some have heard me share about my friend William. His real name is Wieliang, but whenever he would meet people who spoke English they would always end up calling him William so that is he what he had us call him. We met William in Malaysia and then invited him to join us in Thailand for our fifth month and he said yes! The same one who dedicated His life to Christ at the end of month five while at squad debrief in Pattaya Thailand. This friend has become family and his story has been a super neat one to walk alongside of and to be a part of. SO, I wanted to share more, but knowing I only know my side of the story I asked him write to out his story and he eagerly shared, thank you William! So here it is, a blog brought to you by the man who’s life was recently saved:
“How I came along with the acceptance of the Christ?
In the beginning I was seeking a spiritual path, searching for truth, knowledge and wisdom. It turns out that it was GOD that I was seeking.
I was alone. I didn’t even know what it was that I was looking for … I just felt like I was in the middle of the ocean, a lost soul… That was until I met HIM.
Recently in Penang Malaysia, I was on a vacation trying to spend some time on my own. Then one day I met Taryn [a squad mate of the World Race Fusion team] and the Fam [us, the squad]. I believe HE sent them to affiliate me.

The evening of May 29th [during a squad worship night in Thailand a month after meeting everyone], I asked Walter to help me do a listening prayer. I just wanted to try and reach out for HIM and see what would happen. I had a vision and in that vision it was dark. In the darkness there was a ticking pendulum clock with a bird that came alive from the small window of the pendulum clock. When it came alive, it would transform into a fierce lion.
I didn’t know what was going on until later that day. I had thoughts passing through my mind during worship with the Fusion squad and that is how I realized what the message that the LORD was trying to tell me. It said “don’t waste your time, set yourself free and follow Jesus.” As soon as the sentence was spoken to me, there were streams of tears down my face. I said to myself ‘Yes, yes I want to walk alongside you LORD for the rest of my life, yes and I want to be lavished by your spirit LORD.’ How could I say no to a Father who sent his Child to share his wine and bread [blood and body] with me when I am starving and begging for food desperately; How could I?

The night of May 31st I got baptized on Pattaya Beach (Thailand). I declared that I am a man that belongs to the Christ in front of 60 brothers and sisters in Christ. At first, I didn’t know it would be so many but I didn’t mind at all. I told Daniel, a 27 years old American guy [Fusion Squads Mentor] that baptized me that I didn’t care if my baptism was in front of a big crowd or if there was no one. I wanted to do it for the LORD and I as a symbol that I am His, which I did. I tasted the sea and was reborn, so much joy filled in my heart and in that moment I knew my life would be totally different, which I embrace wholly.

Today I am grateful for what the LORD did. For the acceptance of who I am, for the things that he shown me for the past two months, for the miracles of HIS that I witnessed, for HIS grace, love, glory, and presence. It is so vivid and clear to me who HE is. It is true that HE will answer you when you knock on HIS door shamelessly bold. I am filled with excitement of what lies ahead of me, the plans and adventures HE has for me. It is not a bad thing to walk with faith and I am blessed!! This is just a small chapter of my story and yet it does not end here, what’s next?”
