Here’s what I love about following Jesus— He always has an adventure waiting for each of us, if we’re willing to follow along.
I’m excited to tell you that I recently accepted a position to lead a short term mission trip this July to South Africa for Adventures in Missions. I’ve been a missionary with Adventures in Missions since 2016 and it’s become a huge passion of mine. I’ve fallen in love with the people and the privilege to travel and share the gospel.
Last month I was writing about how travel has never fulfilled my heart the way that the message of the gospel I get to share does. Traveling is a beautiful gift, but knowing Jesus and the life He has for me and all nations brings true joy to my soul. Knowing Him is worth everything!
Coming July, I will be leading about 10 college aged students on a month long mission trip to South Africa. We will be partnering with an amazing ministry and church in the town we’ll be staying in. I’m so excited to disciple, love, and engage with these people. I was able to do this for 3 months in Guatemala last fall and it’s where I truly came alive in my passions.
My team and I will be working closely with a church in Heidelberg, South Africa called Langeberg Christian Fellowship. Langeberg Christian Fellowship has a vision to to see the body of Jesus made whole, discipled, and equipped. They do this through their Bible college, mission school, and a variety of outreach programs. We will be partnering in village ministry. Evangelism, manual labor, and renovating an elementary school. My main focus as leader will be helping the missionaries with building community as a team, emotional support, contact with host, and simply guiding them on the mission field.
This is where you come in— after years of support raising, I’ve gained such a beautiful perspective of the body of Christ. We work together and I can’t do what I do without the help of the people around me. This is wildly humbling for me and I’ve learned to love watching God show up in crazy ways.
How can you help?
I need your prayers, seriously! I will be on the field as the only leader– this will be a first for me. I’m super excited for the way Holy Spirit will help me and how I’ll grow in this position God and my leadership has trusted my with. Please pray for my team’s safety, boldness in evangelism, and unity with each other. Pray that the people we encounter will encounter the life-changing love of Jesus.
I have $2,000 to raise before June 20th. The money will go towards my transportation, food, living, and medical insurance while on the mission field. While this is a big chunk of money, with a little help from a lot of people, we can get there!
