It’s been a while since I’ve updated. These past few months have been busy, crazy, hard, and good all together. Here’s a very brief glimpse of what the past three months have consisted of!
Ghana: I was Ghana try to be clever but instead I just chose this starting sentence.
Wow, Ghana was amazing. We worked with Elim City Church in Sunyani. During the month of September, we hosted a super fun (if I do say so myself) concert, evangelized to the Sunyani locals, taught and ministered to children at a school, had rap/dance battles at youth services, helped facilitate church services, and had a blast. Almost everyday was jam packed with ministry and fellowship. The Ghanaian people we worked with are some of the most welcoming and warm people. We made some amazing memories and relationships that we will definitely carry with us for a very long time.

Nepal: We worked with an amazing organization in Nepal (remaining unnamed for protection) that disciples and rehabilitates women who have been abused, children at risk, and other members of the community in need through the redeeming love of Jesus.. Sometimes Jesus just gives you the opportunity to view His people at work—and it’s beautiful to see. If you could see the dedication and heart behind these people and their individual stories, there would be TEARS. On our side of ministry, we did a lot of different things. We prayer walked, hung out with the kids on the street, went on scavenger hunts with whatever the Lord put on our hearts that day, maneuvered through “faith days.” We did dance bar, trekking, and street ministry. This month stretched my comfort zone quite a bit. Faith and genuine willingness to be stretched were two things that I had to affirm myself of often. The results were so great. Blog to come of one particular ministry moment.

India: This month was my favorite ministry so far. That being said, we lived in a village outside of Hyderabad. Yup. We tented at a local church and were not allowed to leave the grounds for risk of causing scene and endangering the pastors. We got our water from a well, used squatty potties, ate “Indian”-spicy food (by “we” I mean just me because my teammates can’t hang), and drank chai like we were made for it. Not necessarily in that order. We worked with a local pastor and sister churches in the surrounding areas. Each night, we were driven to a neighboring village where we would preach, tell a testimony, and pray over the villagers. Oh and at some point in the service, sing a song or perform a dance. You can laugh, its okay—we did. So much so, that once we had to cut our ethereal performance short. During all that wonderful craziness, the Lord really gave us an amazing adventure. The villagers were so generous with their hospitality and their possessions. I was very moved and humbled by their complete faith in God and prayer. Our host family truly reflected Jesus and love so much. That relationship alone could have made the month but Jesus also gave us some sweet, quiet space to get so much closer to Him during our days. With Jon being moved to another team, we are currently a team of 4 girls #girlpower. This really pushed us to trust God and trust each other. Preaching may not have been in our skill set before, but this month really made us step out of our comfort zone and hone some gifts that may have been overlooked before. I certainly learned a lot from writing and listening to my girls’ sermons. Singing may need a little extra work, but we’ve got 7 more months.

I promise to try to update more! Can I blame it on the fact that I was in a village with no wifi? Thanks so much for your support!
