I have to be honest here…. Lately I have been distracted. Work, entertainment, friends, family, it seems everything is taking my time away from fund raising. Realizing lately that I’ve not been God dependent, I decided to pick up His word. As I read it, God moved me in a mighty way!
Reading through Matthew 27-28, I find it astonishing that the people of the time had the stomach to crucify an innocent man, let alone the Son of God. After Judas returns the pieces of silver, the Chief Priests take it, to buy a burial place for strangers. “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money.” – Matthew 27:6
As I read, I realized the “world” was against Jesus, just as much today as 2,000 years ago. They rejected a man who could heal all of them. How often in our Christian life, do people reject Christ in front of us? As we know, Jesus can take them of their situation and bring them to a place of healing. God clearly declares: “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” – 1 Corinthians 2:9
The Book of Matthew ends with “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:18 -19
The last verse made me realized why God is sending me on the race. I am his, to do his will. God has put the World Race on my heart for three years. I must stay the course, depending on him. If I continue to be distracted, there is no way I will raise enough funds for this mission much less, grow spiritually enough to complete what God wants me to accomplish on this mission. I guess He is teaching me to rely upon Him in preparation for this trip!
If it is on your heart, please help me raise funds. 😉
