You may or may not have noticed that I am fundraising again by selling Choose Love t-shirts – I didn’t mean to just drop that on all of you and then not tell you the reason I am fundraising again. I just got so busy with work and didn’t have time to put it all in words! So I apologize.
So the big announcement is that I am going back out on the field for five months as a squad leader, I will be leading a group of World Racers with two other Alumni’s for five months. I will be going to Peru, Chile, Columbia, Rwanda, and Uganda. I leave in August and will be retuning at the end of December.
My role as a squad leader will be a bit different then my role was last year as a racer. The squad is my ministry, I will be doing ministry along side of them- but they are my true ministry. To walk beside them and love on them, encourage them, to be their safe space but also to voice what needs to be said, empower, and challenge them. I will be encouraging them to step into more intimacy with the Lord and walk in the fullness of who the Lord made them to be.
I will also be helping with the logistical side of things; debriefs, travel, team location and other things that make up the Race.
This opportunity came out of no where and I can not believe how soon I will be back in a different country.
The amount I have to fundraise seems so small compared to what the Lord helped me with last year, but it is still a number I can not pay for by myself. So I am asking for your help! In prayer, and in finances. If you could be praying for wisdom, to lead this group, my my fundraising, for the squads fundraising, for the people we will come in contact with, and our time left here in the states, to be intentional.
