I can’t begin to describe to you my gratitude for all your help in sending me to Jamaica. I was able to visit D-Squad at their debrief and spend the week with them in various sessions, or worship and teachings. It was such a beautiful time of reflection and rejoicing in what the Lord did in Jamaica, and the work He did in their hearts. It was such a joy to me to see them glowing with the Holy Spirit from the minute I saw them. They didn’t have to tell me the work of the Holy spirit in them, because it was upon them. It was radiating from within them. They had grown far beyond what I even prayed for and I’m so glad we serve a God that is able and willing to provide far more than we could ever ask or hope for. You all were the vital part that got me on a plane to come face to face with the glory of his fulfilled promises. His word says in Isaiah 55:11 that His word will prosper where it is sent it and it will accomplish all that he wants it to. Thank you for your yes to be apart of what God is doing on the field and in the body of Christ. My heart is so full with joy.
My favorite part of debrief was visiting with them all and hear of all the moments of Jesus at work. Naturally all I could think of was, “wow I would have loved to be there with them and experience it with them.” Almost as soon as I thought that, I was instantly reminded of what God spoke to me when I left the field after the Dominican. He whispered,
“Then you wouldn’t be here. Waiting for the wondrous things I’ll do next .”
I think sometimes it’s so easy for me to look at past blessings and wish I was still living in them. I can get caught up in the past to the point of briefly wishing things could have worked out differently. Then my sweet savior reminds me that although the past is a beautiful marker to remind me of how good He’s been, that He’s just as good right now, and has even more in store for my future. Remembering what God has done is such a remarkable and necessary part of our faith so we can stand firm on the character of who God is. We can look back and know He is the unfailing God He claims to be because we have witnessed His faithfulness in our lives. When I get caught up in the day to day I can slow down and remember that if I hadn’t trusted God then, I wouldn’t be where I am now, and where I am now is such a gift.
God is still writing my story, as He is each and every one of ours. He’s doused every page in love, and soaked His promises into every sentence. I can truly say I am so glad to have so many lessons of surrender in each chapter so I can learn to see more of His promises to us. His promise is to keep us. To care for our spirits as we entrust them into the graceful care of Jesus. When I don’t hear Him, I can still see Him. He’s still here working in me, just as He worked in them while I was away. We’re all connected to the same vine, and it will never be broken. I’m thankful for all the pruning that occurred in their lives because it encouraged my heart to press on towards to mark. I’m thankful for the countless laughter that fills every space when we’re reunited, and I’m thankful for a Father that orchestrated it all.
To the Magic School Bus, you’re spirits are so bright and I love what God is doing in each and every one of you. I saw majesty on each of you from the moment I saw you, and now it’s even more apparent. Without a single spoken word, my spirit became even more alive. You guys may never know the growth you instilled in me, and how grateful I am to know you all.
