Week 2 in Costa Rica is halfway through and it’s been super educational. I can now add stair and house building to my “World Race Resume” as our days have been filled with construction! A generous donor to the church we’re serving provided material for Everesto (pictured below) to have a new house.

Monday we torn down pieces of his home and began the process of reconstructing it. By Wednesday, we had a frame and roof on the new structure! It is nestled right next to the walkway we use and we’re hoping to see the stairs we worked on last weekend continue down to his front door. He has been the sweetest and refers to himself as the church “abuelo” or grandpa. Every day he has Coke or juice to share with us and you can tell how excited he is to see the progress.

This weekend, we’ll continue work on the community stairs, participate in church activities and maybe even get a hike it to see a little bit more of the beauty of Costa Rica. Thank you for your continued prayers!
