My team, Rooted in Truth, said goodbye to our ministry hosts and the kids at the orphanage last week with a foot washing. It was beautiful to serve those who had served and loved us so well during our time in Cambodia. We left Ta Khmao on Wednesday the 28th by bus to meet up with the rest of our squad in Siem Reap.
There we participated in a Leadership Development Weekend (LDW) where leadership poured into us with workshops, lessons and energy to pump us up for Thailand. One of our fun activities during this time was visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise. We were in TukTuks at 4:30am and made it to the beautiful landmark in time to see the sun come over on of the temples. It was stunning! How cool is it that we get to be in relationship with our God; that our time with Him isn’t limited to walls and structures but that He walks every step with us, desiring deeper and deeper intimacy!? He painted a beautiful picture for us that morning.
After LDW, the girls on my team were combined with another co-ed team. Thailand is “Man-istry” month for J-Squad so all of the men are placed on a team together to serve and grow as men in Christ. As for the ladies, we came together and have a really solid team and ministry for the month. We’re just outside of Bangkok teaching English and so far have received blessing upon blessing.
A World Racer from 2013 now works for the organization we’re partnering with and has been wonderful in showing us around town and making us feel at home. When we arrived, the countdown for 2017 was on so we explored downtown Bangkok and we’re able to ring in the new year together. On top of that, our hosts have been so hospitable. We are pumped to see what this month holds!
[Prayer Request: Unfortunately, I managed to pick up little parasitic friends in Cambodia. They like to make my stomach turn and zap my energy. After a doctors visit, I’m on the road to recovery with antibiotics (PTL) but would love your prayers to make sure that the little buggers get completely flushed out of my system! Also, please be praying for my new team. It’s crazy to be with a new group again, but I can tell already that this group of women is going to have a stellar month. Please pray that we can be spirit led, pouring into those around us with the love of the Father and that hearts my be softened to receive that love. Thank you!]
