WOW. This past week has been one of my favorites here in Cambodia! Our family grew a little bit during the week as Cara and Tera (Squad Leaders) joined us in ministry. They came along side us as we taught bible study in the mornings, and English to three different classes in the afternoons. The people are amazing – So loving and eager to learn.

As we got closer to Christmas, we were able to help in decorating the church with snowflakes! At 25, you’d think I’d stop dropping my jaw every time someone says they haven’t seen snow, but yet again I had the opportunity to share about the white flakes of ice that fall from the sky.

Saturday night, my team came together for a candle light service, a tradition for many of us on the team. We opened with scripture, followed by the lighting of the candles and Christmas carols. We even made stovetop popcorn and peppermint hot cocoa (who knew essential oils could be so multipurpose!?).

The next day (CHRISTMAS) our host blessed us with time to just sit in the presence of Jesus and we took full advantage of it; reading scripture, listening to sermons and worshipping. As the time came for the Christmas party at the church, I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was AMAZING! The kids from the village and orphanage had put together skits and songs to celebrate Jesus’ birth and the meaning of His life and death. Dinner was served, and then the craziest thing happened. A full blown dance party began. It. Was. A. Blast! It was such a joy filled way to celebrate our Savior being born.

To top it all of, I had my Christmas wishes come true and was able to FaceTime my extended family, specifically my grandparents who I haven’t been able to communicate with since leaving the States since they don’t have smart phones. I only got a picture of my grandma Foldes, but I got to see the King side this morning, too! (around 2am for me) I just wasn’t quite awake enough to remember a screen shot…

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas! Thinking of you all in the States and trying to send a little warmth from Cambodia
