“Chomreabsuor” or “Hello!” from Ta Khmao, Cambodia. My team and I arrived to our ministry site on Saturday and met our hosts for the month, Thyvenn and Dom. Both of these men have huge hearts for the growth of the body of Christ and caring for orphans. Yesterday, we got to spend time with their growing church community in Ta Khmao and in a near by village. The church service in the morning was beautiful! We got to hear testimonies and see the heart behind the small congregation. After, we took a small break and had lunch at the orphanage. We’ll be blessed with meals prepared for us for lunch and dinner while we’re here.
In the afternoon, we were able to see a new church in one of the villages surrounding Ta Khmao. It was an hour drive off-roading, and then a 3 mile hike to get to the church building. There, we spent time with around 25 kids singing songs and sharing the love of Jesus, Davante shared a message with the women of the village and we were able to do a home visit for a man who was bed ridden with stomach pains. We prayed together over him and as we left, he said his pain had gone away – Praise God!
Since it had gotten late, we rode in a boat to get back to the car. It was an adventure, which is already proving to be the theme of this month. The last two nights we’ve been sleeping in hammocks on a roof since our living arrangements aren’t ready yet, so please pray that the bugs stop finding us delicious (seriously, bug bites everywhere). Also, please pray for perseverance. With the holidays coming up, it can be easy to give into emotions but as a team we are doing our best to press into what God has for us here and to live with grateful hearts and serving spirits.
