Wingapo friends!

The wildflowers have been posted in Malaysia since the first of December. We have been working with a variety of ministries here:  cooking and serving in a soup kitchen, assisting at a youth camp, sorting and folding clothes for a thrift store that funds the soup kitchen, visiting a retirement home, prayer ministry. The team has stayed busy this month. While the team has been on the go with ministry, the Lord has called me to other things.  My back has been acting up, so since the end of week one, I have been taking extra time to rest my back.

For those who do not know, I sustained a back injury a few years ago.  The Lord has done amazing things with my back; it is really a miracle that I am able to participate in the race. Still, I sometimes have spells of pain and weakness where my body cannot quite catch up with my spirit.  This is one of those times.

While my team is more busy than ever, my body is needing me to go slower than normal. My team has been excellent about letting me do what I can, and encouraging me not to push myself past my limits.  I have a history of doing too much in these times.  I consistently make the injury worse by over-extending.  After my last experience the Lord helped me come to a decision:  this is the only body I have to serve the Lord.  And I want to have it as long as I can to praise the Lord. For me, that means treating myself well now so that later I can serve better.

The good news is, my back is improving more and more everyday. Praise the Lord.
