I was blessed to work as a camp counselor this past summer at a magical place called Camp Glisson. At the beginning of the summer, every counselor was given the challenge of living with joy every week. It was definitely a challenge, but a wonderful one. It’s one I’ve tried to carry home with me. I recently had to move back home in order to prepare for the World Race. I found myself dreading this time. I even caught myself thinking of it as “The Waiting Place.” It’s so easy to be impatient and overlook the blessings that God gives us before those times that we look forward to. I have the wonderful opportunity to see my family; I get to involve myself in ministries I was always too far away to participate in; I can even get re-involved in ministries I once was apart of. I’m not just waiting until my next adventure; this is an adventure. The preparation time for this journey is as important as the journey itself, and I will experience it with the joy of the Lord.
