Beauty for ashes
We arrived in Chile knowing that we would be working in an area that was recently burned in a wildfire that rushed through destroying thousands of homes and property of Chilean farmers.
We arrived to this beautiful mountain range that was painted with burnt red tree tops and black as night earth. Ashes as far as the eye could see and faces of Chilean people working hard to restore what was lost.

Our job was simple, help out some farmers repairing fences that were burned in the fire. We prepare for hard work and we’re excited to be camping for a while.
God really used that time to speak to each of us.
Here’s what he told me.
What might seem like an ordinary task can end up being the most rewarding.
I am only as strong as I let my Father in heaven be the source of my strength.
Beauty is more than just something you look at, it’s how you open yourself up to living in the image you were created in.
Being in the middle of God’s creation for 9 days, working hard and praising his great name with some amazing people. By far the best time God blessed each one us so far.
Sure we were covered in dirt, and ate more Kit Kat bars than any person should be allowed. But God’s purpose was greater than us and we ended up blessing these farmers, one was nearly in tears with graditude and the other was so thankful he gave us a goat!
We have only been in Chile for about three weeks and I am not ready to leave yet.
